Megan & Stanley

November 11, 2011

It’s 11.11.11, which seems like the perfect time to post some images from one of the highlights of my year.  Last month I was invited to photograph the food at my coworker Megan’s wedding. She and her fiance, Stanley, had done something pretty amazing- they created a truly local wedding.  They had grown or locally sourced all of the food for their reception.  Megan canned all of the wedding favors.  Her brother brewed an Octoberfest beer especially for the occasion, and they bought sparkling hard cider from a local orchard instead of typical champagne.  All of their decorations came from local farms/nurseries, and the ceremony and reception took place at beautiful Badger Rock Farms.

As you can imagine, my localvore foodie heart skipped a beat when she asked me to be a part of such a momentous day, to document the final result of months of planning, tending, growing and harvesting.

This was my first chance to take photographs at a wedding, and what a gorgeous day it was.  Megan and Stanley already had a wedding photographer, and asked me to focus on the food. Swoon!  Here are a few of my favorites from the day.  You can see the rest here.

Congratulations Megan & Stanley!  Your day was absolutely beautiful, and completely delicious.

Love.

Also, please note the bibs that they handmade for each guest to wear while eating our BBQ. Best. Detail. Ever.

XO,

Stephanie
